These Malaysian celebrities are just as popular on TikTok!

In its infancy, users of social media app TikTok were often disregarded, or even ridiculed, for its seemingly unbeneficial contents and merely dance-focused videos. However, more and more users from the younger generations – leaning towards Gen Z rather than millennials – are proving that the app’s usage can be diversified with various interesting contents, including sharing lifestyle tips, tech, and recipes.

A large number of TikTok users are now social media celebrities (influencers, if you will). Established celebrities from the entertainment industry also make up a sizeable portion of this popular TikTok user population. This applies to Malaysia as well where many local celebrities have taken to the app to provide entertaining contents for their fans and followers. This is where their creativity shines!

Below we list down some the most popular Malaysian celebrities who now bring their star power to TikTok. Let’s take a look at their TikTok creativity!

Who knew that Malaysia’s top singer Dato' Sri Siti Nurhaliza is also an avid TikTok user! Even though the editing for the ‘Wipe It Down’ challenge Siti (or more affectionately known as Tok Ti) attempted wasn’t exactly top notch, funnily enough netizens forgave her and accepted her editing. In fact, some fans even pinned the blame on the mirror and the app! The video, which has garnered nearly a million views, also features her first daughter, Siti Aafiyah.

Just as popular in the States as she is in her home country, Malaysian singer Yuna didn’t miss out on the chance to open her own TikTok account. She proves to have a strong following on the app as well when a simple video of cleaning her house was able to reach half a million views! The creative element here is: fashion. That is she tickled everyone’s funny bone by donning ostentatious outfits while doing housework. Other than this TikTok video, another well-loved one of hers is the Level Up challenge.

She also shares exercise and healthy lifestyle tips on the app. If you’re looking to learn how to do a proper catwalk, make sure to visit Amber’s TikTok!

In fact, when Nora was recently invited to host the programme “MeleTOP”, she took this chance to do a TikTok post with Dato' Sri Siti Nurhaliza. No wonder Nora is known to many as Malaysia’s Queen of TikTok!
