A taste of what’s to come. How cute are these?
If you grew up with Sanrio characters, there are 4 out of the 13 zones that are a must-visit for you. First up is the ‘Sanrio Village’, here you’ll see some of the characters taking a ride on the Sanrio train, which is made in imitation of the Sanrio Gift Gate of Gotanda, Tokyo, in the 1970s.

Second, Malaysian fans will get to see this first. (Yay!). It is a replica of the Hello Kitty coin purse, the first merchandise ever created by Sanrio.

Third, walk down memory lane as you marvel at the 300 vintage items (in full support of Sanrio Japan and Sanrio Hong Kong) that will be on display for fans to stare at.

Last but not least, the fourth must-see is the Drawing Classroom, where designers in charge of Sanrio Japan have created exclusive hand sketch for 9 popular Sanrio characters. So even if you’re a total drawing noob, the step-by-step tutorials will up your game and you’ll be drawing your favourite characters breezily in no time.

Of course, leaving evidence of your visit to “Our Sanrio Times – Kuala Lumpur” on social media is a must. There are plenty of Instagram-worthy spots all over the exhibition to take that perfect shot at. One of the best selfies you can take is with the 3.5 meter tall Hello Kitty plush toy at The Plushy World, which also houses 2000 plush toy version of 100 Sanrio friends. (Fun fact: this Hello Kitty plush toy is so big, the mall management had to remove the mall’s glass ceiling just to move it to the exhibition hall *gasps*).

Organised by Alata Events and Macexpo, and licensed by Sanrio, “Our Sanrio Times – Kuala Lumpur” is the perfect place for families, youngsters and the young-at-hearts to spend the upcoming holidays at this year end!

  1. They have a few large flat screens in the hall but not too many to make this a sports bar. It's all about the beer at venues in Chicago. Long lines of taps are behind each bar sporting an impressive array of craft libations.
