Miss Universe Malaysia 2018 is 20-year-old student


20-year-old accounting and finance student Jane Teoh has been crowned as Miss Universe Malaysia 2018!

Taking place at The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur last evening, Miss Universe Malaysia 2017 Samantha Katie James had presented her successor with the title.

Teoh who received RM50,000 in cash sponsored prizes over RM150,000 and a full scholarship from HELP University had beat 16 other candidates for the crown.

The 178cm lass will represent Malaysia at the Miss Universe 2018 pageant held at a yet to be determined date and location.

The first runner-up place went to 22-year-old Alexis SueAnn Seow Su-Yin, second runner-up to 20-year-old Liliana Fernandez, and the third runner-up place went to 22-year-old Jasebel Shalani Robert.

"And we have a new queen! Well done and congrats Jane Teoh on being crowned Miss Universe Malaysia 2018. I look forward to a year of working with you.

"Also a big congrats to the runner ups Alexis, Liliana and Jesebel for doing so well." wrote Miss Universe Malaysia Organisation director Datin Elaine Daly on her Instagram.

Attendees of the ceremony were treated to a performance by Malaysian songstress Yuna.
