SHINee’s Kim Jong-hyun dies at 27


Kim Jong-hyun, the member of one of K-pop's most popular boy bands SHINee was reported to have passed away.

In a statement released by the Gangnam Police, the singer's unconscious self was found upon officers’ arrival at his house in Cheongdam-dong.

Prior to the discovery, Kim's older sister contacted the police on 18 December at 4.42pm, and reported his intention to commit suicide.

The statement also explained that the singer was rushed to the Konkuk University Hospital in a state of cardiac arrest, though attempts to resuscitate him failed.

SHINee released their fifth Japanese album "Five" earlier this year this year, and launched their fifth Japan tour Shinee World 2017, starting in January 2017 and ending in Tokyo in April 2017.

He was 27.
