Spice Girls is set for an official reunion in 2018

Stop right now! It has been revealed that the legendary girl group Spice Girls are set to reunite for a TV special – and an album!

According to The Sun, Mel C is the driving force behind the group getting back together, and she even managed to convince Victoria Beckham to get on board.

“The five of them have been locked in secret talks since the summer, and finally they are all on-board for a 2018 reunion,” an insider told the UK daily paper.

“As it stands, they will be working together on a series of projects, which will include an album and a TV special celebrating the Spice Girls.”

“And getting Victoria to agree has been a coup for everyone involved, given she has always been the person holding back on a reunion The fact she is on board now is down to how much closer the five of them have become recently,” the source continued.

The members reportedly become closer in the wake of Mel B’s explosive divorce battle, and the birth of Geri's son is also one of the reasons which reunited the girls.

The group will be working closely with former boss Simon Fuller for the reunion, which is set to happen in 2018, or once all the members are able to get into one place at the same time.

“It is not easy to get them all in the same place at the same time. But the team behind the reunion are delighted to have made it to this point,” said the source.

Consisting of 'Scary Spice' Mel B, 'Sporty Spice' Mel C, 'Baby Spice' Emma, 'Ginger Spice' Geri, and 'Posh Spice' Victoria, the members last reunion was in 2012, during the 2012 Summer Olympics closing ceremony where they played the songs “Wannabe” and “Spice Up Your Life”.

Talks of reunions have been going on for many years, but none of them comes to fruition. But hopefully this time, the Spice Girls reunion is for real!
