Singapore’s hellish theme park to host a new music festival

Despite being a small country, Singapore is the home for many of the biggest music festivals in Asia, some of them include ZoukOut, Baybeats, Laneway, Ultra Singapore, It’s the Ship, and more!

This year, the country is set to debut another new music festival, which is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before.

The festival is called Noise Invasion Festival and it is set to be held at one of the scariest and most haunting places in Singapore, the Haw Par Villa theme park.

Located along Pasir Panjang Road, the theme park contains over 1,000 statues and 150 giant dioramas depicting scenes from Chinese mythology, folklore, legends, history, and illustrations of various aspects of Confucianism.

But that’s not what makes it scary, one of the attractions at the theme park, the Ten Courts of Hell – which is honestly its best one – features gruesome and gory depictions of Hell in Chinese mythology and Buddhism. (Well, isn’t that nice?)

Brought to you by Noise Singapore and Invasion Singapore (thus the aptly named festival), Noise Invasion Festival will take place on 28 October 2017 from 6.00pm to 10.30pm.

“Expect the unconventional and the strange, with a killer line up of music, art, dance and food that deviates from the usual arts festival format,” read the statement on the festival’s page.

“Come dressed up in your most outrageous costumes and be prepared to #GetWeird!”

The first phase line-up has already been announced, and they are indie pop quartet M1ldl1fe, soulful songstress Sam Rui, percussive rock troupe Wicked Aura, post-rockers Amateur Takes Control, and aspiring rapper Axel Brizzy.

More details on the festival will be announced closer to the date. Stay tuned on noiseinvasionfest.com.
