Harith Iskander gets into Funniest Person’s semi-finals

Malaysia’s top stand-up comedian Harith Iskander is still in the running to become the world’s funniest person as he has made it to the semi-finals of Laugh Factory “Funniest Person in the World” competition.

Competing against 19 other stand-up comedians from around the world, the 50-year-old comedian is currently leading the pack with 457,237 points, while Philippines’ Alex Caleja and Singapore’s Fakkah Fuzz follow behind with 94,369 points and 65,230 points, respectively.

The 20 finalists will each receive USD1,000, while the two runners-up will each get USD10,000 and USD5,000, respectively.

The grand prize winner will get to walk away with the Festival’s trophy and a check for USD100,000.

Harith Iskander is one of the two comedians that represented Malaysia in the competition, with the other one being Dr Jason Leong.

However, since only one Malaysian can qualify to the finals, Jason got disqualified despite having the second highest points after Harith Iskander.

The semi-finals of Laugh Factory “Funniest Person in the World” competition will be held LIVE in Finland on 4 December 2016, and only five comedians from the 20 finalists will move on the finals.
