Events Not To Be Missed: May 2016


Mayday, mayday! Here comes the month of May, and it is definitely an emergency for all you party people as there will be tons of fun events and festivals for you to experience – and we don’t mean just Labour Day, okay!

Take out your pens and mark your calendars for all these events happening in May!

1. Rudimental at Urbanscapes 2016 (1 May 2016) 

The four-piece English drum and bass band will be performing on Labour Day at the 14th anniversary of Urbanscapes festival.

2. Disclosure at DGTL LVE 2016 (4 May 2016) 

Be the first to enjoy a new series of experiential music and arts event with the Grammy-nominated electronic duo Disclosure as the main highlight!

3. M83 at Urbanscapes 2016 (7 May 2016) 

The Grammy Award-nominated French electronic act has performed at renowned festivals like Lollapalooza, Coachella and St Jerome’s Laneway, so make sure not to miss the performance at this Urbanscapes event too!

4. Electric Run MY (7 May 2016)  

One of the world’s most famous and fun night runs is set to light up the streets of Kuala Lumpur once again for a one-night-only 5km night time fun run.

5. Raku Fest 2016 (7 May 2016)

6. Le French Festival (12 May 2016) 

Previously known as French Arts & Film Festival, the newly revamped festival will have plenty of French-themed concerts, performances and food, and is held in conjunction with the upcoming Euro Cup 2016 France.

7. Kyary Pamyu Pamyu  for Super Japan (13 May 2016)

The kawaii pop sensation is set for a performance at Singapore’s first country-focused cultural festival, Super Japan, to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Singapore.

8. Dragon Run  (14 – 15 May 2016) 

Be prepared to take on the running course like true a Dragon Warrior at the world’s first martial arts inflatable obstacle race, Dragon Run!

9. The Seventh of Rockomania Festival (21 May 2016) 

Catch some of the biggest head-banging rock acts in Malaysia like Cromok, Langsuyr, Hujan, Sil Khannaz, Butterfingers along with seventeen other rock acts at the event.

10. Little Mix LIVE in Malaysia (21 May 2016) 

British girl group Little Mix is set to perform in Malaysia for the first time as they bring in their “Get Weird Tour” in support of their third studio album “Get Weird”.

11. Eluveitie LIVE in Singapore (24 May 2016) 

Celtic folk metal band Eluveitie will soon debut their first show in Singapore, ready to deliver a rocking performance with their heavy guitars, drums, bagpipes, flute, whistles, hurdy gurdy and violin.

12. Music Festival 2016 (25 May – 5 Jun 2016)

Let the music heal your soul at Music Festival 2016 with a medley of musical genres set to be performed by a line-up of talented local singers like Junji Delfino, Elvira Arul, BihZhu, Chelsia Ng, Janet Lee, May Mow, Evelyn Feroza, and WVC Trio Plus.

13. Pop-up Pokémon Café in Singapore (27 May – 31 July 2016) 

Pokémon lovers and fans will be treated with a kawaii-themed Pokémon café for two whole months as Southeast Asia’s first ever Pokémon café will be popping up in Singapore!

14. Zouk Singapore’s Silver Jubilee (28 May 2016) 

Zouk Singapore will soon celebrate its Silver Jubilee, and also mark the last ever Zouk Anniversary event at Jiak Kim Road.
