Damien Rice to have first solo concert in Singapore
After successfully mesmerising Singaporean fans last year at the inaugural Neon Lights festival, Damien Rice is glad to return to the country once again for his very own debut concert!
Known for his many heart-breaking love songs, the 42-year-old Irish singer-songwriter was formerly a member of the 1990s rock group, Juniper.
He parted ways with the band in late '90s to work as a farmer in Tuscany, but then busked throughout Europe before returning to Ireland in 2001 and beginning a solo musical career.
Since his debut album “O” landed at No.8 on the U.K. albums chart, winning the Shortlist Music Prize, many of his songs have been featured in popular series including “Grey's Anatomy”, “Criminal Minds”, “House”, “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and “One Tree Hill”.
Rice is considered one of the best acoustic singer-songwriters of the 21st century, acting as an influence to other younger artistes such as Ed Sheeran and David Knowles.
“Damien Rice - Live in Singapore”, by Secret Sounds Asia, will be held on Saturday, 4 June 2016 at The Star Theatre, starting at 8pm.
