Fall Out Boy parodies NSYNC in new “Irresistible” video
16 years have passed since NSYNC released their millennium hit music video “It’s Gonna Be Me”. Now Fall Out Boy takes us back to that era with the remix version of their music video “Irresistible”, featuring Demi Lovato, where they spoof the classic music video.
In the video, the guys from Fall Out Boy are dolls in a toy store – like NSYNC in their “It’s Gonna Be Me” video – who are trying to capture the attention of Demi, the store’s sales girl.
The video also features the NSYNC dolls from the original “It’s Gonna Be Me” video, as well as cameos from NSYNC members, Chris Kirkpatrick and Joey Fatone, as the factory manager and toy store clerk, respectively.
Fall Out Boy explained in their Facebook that the new “Irresistible” video is sort of like a spin-off to NSYNC’s hit.
“I was looking back at the video for “It’s Gonna Be Me” — where they come to life as dolls-and we thought was there an analogue to this story? Like somewhere in that same store was there a dollar bin full of toys that no one really wanted? That would band together like the misfit, off brand little outsiders they were. The toys no one ever wanted come to life. Where would our band have fit in that story?”
The video was directed by Wayne Isham who also the directed “It’s Gonna Be Me” and “Bye Bye Bye” videos.
Fall Out Boy first “Irresistible” music video (without Demi Lovato) was released last year February.
