One thing Malaysians have in common is definitely their love of the varieties of food found in Malaysia!
Malaysia is a country of diverse race and culture, so even the food reflects the multi-ethnic makeup of its population.
Meet The Rojak Projek team, a community made up of regular Malaysians who believe that something as simple as food is enough to unite everyone.
“What makes Malaysians Malaysian, is our ability to bring all of our differences united around one simple gesture, eating together around the dinner table. After all, loving food and being Malaysian is almost synonym. This is simply what being Malaysian is all about,” explained The Rojak People.
In “The Rojak Projek”, the group created portraits of Malaysians using some of the iconic and traditional Malaysian food like rojak, nasi lemak, sirap bandung, chapatti, putu mayam, onde-onde and more!
“Our food has always been the gesture of peace which allows us to sit, eat and enjoy each other's company despite our differences. It is our differences that makes us unique,” they said on their Facebook page.
The artwork not only showcase the variety of food in Malaysia but also the beauty of the country’s diversity.
