Soundscape Records celebratory showcase
Soundscape Records will be celebrating their 15 year anniversary in January with a showcase where they will be partnering with some of their preferred venues to present numerous events highlighting a diverse cross-genre of artists.
They are starting 2016 with a showcase at Playspace with one of Japan's top rock bands, LITE to headline the event. The line-up also includes the genre-defying SKITS, and Malaysia's very own DIRGAHAYU and DAMN DIRTY APES.
LITE is known for their thrilling and emotional compositions, progressive, edgy riffs and complex rhythms has been getting attention from all quarters while touring in the US, Europe and Asia with worldwide album releases. This will be LITE's third show in KL since their Past, Present, Future tour in 2012.
The band, widely regarded as one of the most exciting to emerge from Japan, has released three full length albums and several EPs including “Illuminate” (2010 recorded by John McEntire) and 2012’s “Past Present Future” which featured Caroline from Mice Parade and appearances at Fuji Rock Festival and Summersonic.
Newcomers SKITS, consists of ex-members from Free Deserters and Citizens of Ice Cream has been gigging regularly and are expecting to release their debut album in the first quarter of 2016.
Damn Dirty Apes, one of the most acclaimed and established instrumental rock group of the past decade was at the forefront of a phenomenal growth in instrumental rock music in the early 90s and has shown no sign of slowing down, they are currently recording their 3rd studio album at
Dirgahayu recently released their debut album "Commemorate" in May and had received positive feedback having their screen printed/handmade version sold out within 2 months. The band has been working tirelessly, including two nation-wide tours, a split release with Japanese band NOTHINGNESS and their much talked about Japan tour.
