The fashion designer and film producer, said she was “very careful” when she accepted Guiati’s proposal.

“I know life is full of risks but I am cautious when it comes to marriage because you will be living with this person for the rest of your life,” she commented about her upcoming first marriage.

“We started dating about four-and-a-half years back,” she was quoted as saying, adding that she was “very cheerful” at the prospect of her first marriage.

The 44-year-old will be wearing a self-designed wedding dress during the ceremony.

Her future husband is a training geologist and has been living in Malaysia for nine years working in the oil and gas industry. They met each other eight years ago through mutual friends.

The couple have been friends as well as business partners, co-owning Zenzero Restaurant & Wine Bar here with Kavita’s brother.

Kavita, known for her roles in local films such as “Hati Malaya”, “Pontianak Harum Sundal Malam” and “Layar Lara”, was also the first Malaysian to have won in an international beauty pageant, The Miss Charm International, held in Russia back in 1990.
