XPDC makes a comeback after 18 years with concert

One of Malaysia’s most iconic heavy metal rock band, XPDC will be making a comeback with a mega concert after 18 long years in order to celebrate 26 years of existing in the local music industry.

The band, which consists of members Mael (vocalist), Izo (lead guitarist), Eddie (bass guitarist) and Lola (drummer), had their last concert performance at Stadium Merdeka back in 1997.

Now, long-time fans of XPDC will once again get the chance to see the rock band in action at their upcoming concert titled, “Konsert Rockestra XPDC: Aku Masih Disini” which will take place at Stadium Merdeka on 6 June 2015.

“Besides relieving our dream to make a comeback and play on a bigger stage, this concert is also meant to let the fans of rock and metal know that we are still here,” said Mael as quoted by The Rakyat Post.

Even though the band has been absent from the music scene for quite some time, they’ve been performing frequently at clubs such as the Hard Rock Café and at private functions throughout the year, according to Mael.

“Most of our fans have now become parents, just like all of us. All I can say is, I am happy to know that lots of our hits are often referenced by the younger generation whenever they listen to rock and metal music. I have even seen some of them playing our songs and performing it as one of their battle songs for the Battle Of The Bands competition. That’s how we know that our music is still relevant today.” Mael added.

The tickets of the XPDC concert are priced at RM95, but for those who are keen for a meet and greet session after the concert can purchase special VIP tickets which are priced at RM350 each, and which are only limited to 500 lucky fans on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Tickets can be purchased via tickethotline.com.my or at Rock Corner outlets in the Klang Valley; or visit the Stadium Merdeka ticket outlets as early as 10am on the concert day to purchase door tickets before they run out!
