SEA Games to stream on YouTube and Sea Games app


The 28th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) hosted by Singapore will be streamed live on the SEA Games TV app and also the official SEA Games YouTube channel, according to the organiser.

The SEA Games which will be held from 5 to 16 June 2015 will stream more than 600 hours of the 39-event sporting competition on the SEA Games TV app which is available on both Android and iOS devices, while 16 sporting events including the opening and closing ceremonies of SEA Games will also be streamed live on YouTube.


“The digital platforms allow the organisers to go beyond venue capacity and geographical boundaries and to reach out to the entire region,” according to a statement obtained by AFP.

The Chairman on the organising committee, Lim Teck Yin said that the two digital platforms are created with the intention to provide updates of the Games to the regional sport fans no matter where they are.

It has been 22 years since Singapore last hosted the SEA Games, the last one was in 1993.

According to Channel News Asia, around 7,000 athletes from 11 participating nations will compete in this year’s SEA Games.
