Facebook introduces new ‘Instant Articles’ feature
Facebook has unveiled a new feature which will instantly provide you quick-loading news stories. Introducing “Instant Articles”, a new product designed for news publishers to create fast and interactive articles on Facebook and thorough iPhones (sorry Android users).
In other words, with Instant Articles, users will get to read instant news just by clicking on them on Facebook without waiting for the news to load as it will be instant!
The feature will also allow users to view zoom-able photos and auto-play videos and audio clips.
According to Facebook, the reason they developed this feature is because nowadays, more and more people are getting on Facebook to find out about the latest happenings through the posts shared by their friends, rather than following the original news site.
Which is why, for Instant Articles, Facebook has partnered-up with nine famous news publishers – The New York Times, National Geographic, Buzzfeed, NBC News, The Atlantic, The Guardian, BBC News, Spiegel Online and Bild (German news site) – for this new feature.
“Fundamentally, this is a tool that enables publishers to provide a better experience for their readers on Facebook” said Facebook Chief Product Officer Chris Cox in a statement. “Instant Articles lets them deliver fast, interactive articles while maintaining control of their content and business models.”
