The Goat is the eighth sign in the Chinese Zodiac and for the Chinese, the sheep or goat is commonly regarded as an auspicious animal.

Individuals born in the year of Goat are said to have a gentle and caring personality with a strong sense of justice. They are usually artistic and creative with opinions of their own. However, they are also shy, sensitive and pessimistic which is why they don’t like being the centre of the attention.

So far the year of the Goat includes; 1907, 1919, 1931, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003 and 2015.

There are a number of well-known and successful celebrities born in the year of the Goat, which is not surprising since people born with this sign are sensitive to the arts and acting as a form of art.

Nicole Kidman (1967) first gained worldwide recognition for her performance in the 1990 film, “Days of Thunder”. Some of her notable films are, “Moulin Rouge”, “The Hours” and “The Paperboy”.

Gao Yuanyuan (1979) is a Chinese actress who is known for acting in many romantic films and dramas. Her latest film is “Don't Go Breaking My Heart 2”.

Sam Taylor-Johnson (1967) is an English filmmaker best known for directing the controversial erotic film, “Fifty Shades of Grey”. She made her directorial debut through the 2009 film, “Nowhere Boy”.

Jamie Foxx (1967) is known for his role as Ray Charles in the biography “Ray” which earned him the Academy Award and BAFTA Award for Best Actor as well as the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a musical or comedy. His most recent film role is William Stacks in the 2014 version of “Annie”.

Vin Diesel (1967) first became known to the audience after appearing in Steven Spielberg's 1998 film, “Saving Private Ryan”. He is now an actor and a filmmaker and is best known for his role Riddick in “The Chronicles of Riddick” trilogy and Dominic Toretto in “The Fast and the Furious” film series.

Keith Urban (1967) is a New Zealand born Australian country music singer, songwriter, guitarist, entrepreneur and music competition judge. He is mostly known for his roles as a coach on the Australian version of the singing competition “The Voice” and as a judge on “American Idol”.

Akshay Kumar (1967), an Indian film actor, producer and martial artist who has been acting in over a hundred Hindi films. Some of his films are; “Waqt Hamara Hai”, “Mohra”, “Elaan”, “Suhaag”, “Mujhse Shaadi Karogi” and “Garam Masala”. 

Shailene Woodley (1991) found breakthrough success in the 2011 film “The Descendants”. Her performance in the film won her many awards and recognition. Her latest film involvement include “The Fault in Our Stars” and “The Divergent Series: Insurgent”. 

French disc jockey David Guetta (1967) released his first album, “Just a Little More Love” in 2002. He achieved mainstream success with his 2009 album “One Love” and continued this success in 2011 with a followup album, “Nothing but the Beat”

Bruce Willis (1955) began his career on the off-Broadway stage and then in television in the 1980s. He is mostly known for his role as John McClane in the “Die Hard” series. Willis is a two-time Emmy Award–winning, Golden Globe Award–winning and four-time Saturn Award–nominated actor.

Chow Yun-fat (1955) is a famous Hong Kong actor who is known for his many lead roles in Hong Kong films as well as several American films such as “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End”. He is currently is second highest earning actor in Hong Kong with HKD170 million under his belt for 2014.

Heath Ledger (1979 – 2008), was an Australian actor and director who earned recognition for his portrayal of Ennis Del Mar in “Brokeback Mountain”. His last roles in films are as The Joker in “The Dark Knight” and as Tony in “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus”.

Chinese model and actress Zhang Ziyi (1979) achieved fame after acting in “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” which won her several awards in the Western film industry. Zhang is considered one of the Four Dan Actresses of China, a title received by actresses who dominate the Chinese cinema. The other three are; Zhao Wei, Zhou Xun and Xu Jinglei.

Evangeline Lilly (1979) is a Canadian actress and author known for playing the character Elf Tauriel in “The Hobbit The Desolation of Smaug” and “The Battle of the Five Armies”. She also won multiple Saturn Awards and Teen Choice Awards and a Golden Globe nomination for her role as Kate Austen in the ABC series “Lost”.

Jason Statham (1967) is an English actor who is known for his role in “The Expendables” film series as Lee Christmas. Before becoming an actor, Statham worked as a black market salesman and was recruited by Guy Ritchie in 1998 for his film, “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels” because Ritchie needed someone to play the role of a street-wise con artist. 

Jimmy Kimmel (1967) is an American comedian, voice actor, actor, screenwriter, producer, musician, television host, and radio personality who is most known for being the host and creator of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

Julia Roberts (1967), an American actress and producer who gained fame after her performance in “Pretty Woman” which grossed USD464 million worldwide. She was the highest-paid actress in the world throughout the 1990s and the first half of the 2000s. Philip Seymour Hoffman (1967 – 2014) was an American actor, director, and producer of film and theatre who was best known for his many supporting roles in films, notably in “Boogie Nights”, “The Big Lebowski”, “Twister” and “Mission: Impossible III”. One of his final roles was Plutarch Heavensbee in the “Hunger Games” series.

Chris Pratt (1967), best known for his role as Peter Quill/Star-lord in “Guardians of the Galaxy”. He played many supporting roles in his early film career which include “Bride Wars”, “Wanted”, Jennifer’s Body”, “Moneyball” and “What’s Your Number”. Pratt will star in “Jurassic World”, the continuation of the popular “Jurassic Park” franchise in 2015. 

Pamela Anderson (1967), a Canadian-American actress best known for her roles on the television series “Baywatch”. She was married to Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee.

Mark Ruffalo (1967), is best known for portraying Hulk/Bruce Banner in “The Avengers”. Some of his notable films in which he has starred or co-starred are “You Can Count on Me”, “13 Going on 30”, “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”, “Shutter Island”, “Now You See Me”, and “Begin Again”

Jay Chou (1979) is a Taiwanese musician, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, actor and director. He first became known as a musician where his music has gained recognition throughout Asia. American actor and producer Matt LeBlanc (1967) is best known for his role as Joey Tribbiani on the NBC sitcom, “Friends” and its spin-off “Joey”. He was nominated for an Emmy three times for his work on “Friends”.

Will Ferrell (1967) is a comedian, actor, producer and writer who was first known as a cast member on the NBC sketch comedy show, “Saturday Night Live”. He then started acting in comedy films such as “Old School”, “Elf”, “Step Brothers”, “The Other Guys” and more.
