KanZantip, Cambodia’s answer to Thailand’s Full Moon Party?
The annual KanZantip festival will be held in Cambodia this year.
If you haven’t heard of the festival before, KanZantip or simply known as “Z” is an electronic dance music festival that started since 1992.
Every year before this, the festival was held at the Crimean peninsula until the year last year, where it was held outside Ukraine for the first time ever and moved to Georgia.
The change of venue is a result of the politically unstable situation that took place in Crimea last year.
But for this year, the dance festival will take place at the Koh Puos iZland, Sihanoukville in Cambodia from 18 to 28 February 2015.
"It's a unique opportunity for successful people to participate on the colonisation of the uninhabited Kazantip island to celebrate the Kazantip lifestyle, cross limits, dance all day/night and explore the pure beauty of the Kazantip island and its citizens," explains the festival’s website.
KanZantip is infamously known to be a controversial festival due to presence of drugs and nudity. Last year, a member of the Georgian Orthodox Church protested when it was held in Georgia.
The lineup of performers for this year’s festival is not yet announced but here are the ticketing and accommodation details:
To attend KaZantip, the multiple entrance ticket is priced at 200 to 250 Euro.
Accommodation on the island is provided by the organisers in three packages for the duration of the event.
The Hardcore package is 10 Euro per night (shared room up to 4 guests with common toilet), the Party Animal is 35 Euro per night (own room and toilet for 1 to 3 guests) and the VIP package is 80 Euro per night (own air-conditioned room with toilet for 1 or 2 guests).
Cambodia will be joining the region that is no stranger to island parties, especially the beachside Full Moon Party that’s held at Thailand’s Koh Phangan island every other month during the full moon lunar cycle.
