Malaysia is MOST obese country in Southeast Asia
Malaysia is the FATTEST country in Southeast Asia? Well, it is not really that surprising if you really think about it, because we are in a country that’s prosperous with carb-heavy food.
As a matter of fact, Malaysia has been in the top ranks for quite some time now and apparently we are moving up the rank year by year.

"We are the most obese nation in Southeast Asia, and Malaysians are becoming more obese," said Health Minister Datuk Seri S. Subramaniam.
According to The Malaysian Insider, a 2013 study by U.K. medical journal, Lancet shows that almost forty-five percent of Malaysian men and half of the women in Malaysia are overweight or obese.
Well, who can blame us when our country is famous for our delicious food that leads to obesity, like Nasi Lemak, Roti Canai, Satay, Char Koay Teow, Rendang, Teh Tarik and more.

Around 2.6 million adults in Malaysia suffer from diabetes, a figure authorities expect to spike up to 4.5 million in the year 2020, The Malaysian Insider reports.
It does not matter how high the price of sugar has increased because Malaysia is still one of the top sugar consuming countries in the world.
What’s worse is that various fast food chains in Malaysia such as KFC, McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Dominos Pizza and more, have reported an increase in their business and skyrocketing profits.
Obviously, Malaysians are not fond of exercising and they only do it when they feel that they need to says Elaine Yap, a marketing manager with fitness chain Jatomi.
“At least three out of 10 people who sign up at our gym do it because of illnesses, including obesity and heart-related illness."
Now that we know that this is a fact each and every Malaysian needs to bear in mind that, “You are what you eat.”
