Japanese latest invention – Anti-loneliness Hugging Chair!
Have you ever so felt lonely that you needed someone to hug you close and provide you the warmth and love you need?
Well, fret no more! Because the Japanese has recently unveiled a creative, weird yet useful and sort of creepy invention that can helps us cure our loneliness.
The unique invention is called ‘The Tranquility Chair’ built in the shape of a huge human-shaped fabric doll with a friendly-looking face complete with long arms that can wrap around the users for an affectionate and loving embrace.

According to the Huffington Post, the Japanese company that created this wonderfully caring invention, UniCare is selling the chair in Japan for 46,000 yen (RM1384,58) at the International Home Care and Rehabilitation Exhibition in Tokyo.
“It makes you feel safe,” said a spokesperson from UniCare. “Anyone can use it, but it is designed for older people.” Plus, another version of hugging chair adapted for wheelchair users is also available.
Considering that a quarter of Japan’s population is currently over the age of 65, the figure is expected to rise to 40 percent in coming decades. This means that this invention will soon come in handy for Japanese old folks, which is why The Tranquility Chair will be quite relevant to the Japanese market.

“They are comforting for people who live alone – they can talk to them and hug them,” explained the spokesperson. “They also play old Japanese music, which is nostalgic for older people.”
Currently, the chair has only been on sale in Japan, it is not known whether the chair will be coming to Malaysia anytime soon!
