FOX to develop “Archie” live-action drama series
Looks like the Riverdale gang is making their way towards the small screen!
The iconic American comic book, “Archie Comics”, is going to be developed into a live-action television series by FOX with Greg Berlanti, producer of “The Flash” series, acting as the main man behind the production of the new live-action adaptation of the “Archie” series, Deadline reported.
The upcoming series will be renamed as “Riverdale” and it will feature the gang from Riverdale in “Archie Comics”, such as Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, Reggie Mantle, Jughead Jones and probably Kevin Keller who is the latest member to join Archie and his friends.
According to The Sydney Morning Herald, it is also expected that other characters from the “Archie” universe will make an appearance in the TV series, such as characters from “Josie and the Pussycats” and “Sabrina the Teenage Witch”.

The series will be penned by the Chief Creative Officer of “Archie Comics”, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who is best known for his work in “Marvel Comics” and television series, “Glee”.
"Comic book TV shows have kind of exploded, and honestly, Archie's media presence and Archie's relevancy, which every year I think gets deeper and more profound, [continues] to happen," said Aguirre-Sacasa to The Sydney Morning Herald.
