“Temporary Family” makes huge bucks at the box office
It was reported that Nick Cheung and Sammi Cheng's new romantic comedy film, "Temporary Family", has broken the Hong Kong opening records of their previous hit films.
According to a report on HK Top Ten, the movie, which opened last week, made HKD 1.51 million (approximately USD 181,931), beating Sammi's "Blind Detective" opening record of HKD 850,000 and Nick's "Unbeatable" record of HKD 1.41 million.
As of 27 August, the film also made HKD 9.7 million (USD 1.25 million) at the box office.
In response to the box office result, Sammi, who is currently filming new movie "Triumph in the Skies" in England, expressed her delight with the numbers.
"I was worried at first, but now I am very happy. I am looking forward to working with Nick for the second time!" Sammi enthused.
Meanwhile, Nick said that it was truly perfect, since this is his first romantic film in a long time and he was truly lucky to be able to work with Sammi.
