“2 Days 1 Night” demands compensation from Jaycee Chan
Jaycee Chan has recently been fined a hefty amount by the producers of "2 Days 1 Night" - the Chinese version of the Korean variety programme of the same name.
According to Xinhua News, the actor, who was scheduled to shoot an episode on 18 August, was unable to attend filming as he has been detained by the Beijing police since 14 August.
The actor's agency, M'Stones International, revealed that they have already requested to halt Jaycee's participation in the programme and even refunded the deposit, totalling RMB 1.5 million (approximately USD 244,160).
However, the production recently demanded additional compensation of RMB 5 million (USD 813,868) due to Jaycee's failure to fulfil his obligation to the contract.
In response, Jaycee's manager Steven said that the company will settle the financial issues. "It's clear that Jaycee was the one who made the mistake."
In regard to Jaycee's detention, he said, "We are entering the judicial process now, so we can't reveal anything."
