An Honest Mistake says “We’re Alright” with new music video

Malaysian Pop Punk band, An Honest Mistake held a launch party to unveil their new music video, "We're Alright", over the weekend with their fans and fellow musicians.

At the music video launch party, not only did the band play a special set for the attendees, they also got some of their musician friends, like Rozella, RELENT, Beatburns, Daniel Wong, Isaac Ho, Armon, Amrita Soon and Ray Cheong to perform at the very intimate and up and coming music space, ATAS by Bijan FX at Kelana Jaya.

Shot in the Philippines, the more than 'alright' upbeat video was shot by Jasper Lawan where the entire band had flown over to the Philippines to produce the video for their very first single released after being signed by a major music label (Universal Music Malaysia).

In "We're Alright" the scene is set in an upbeat room crowded by energetic people, where the band is seen to be playing at a full-blown party. Not only that, the video also features a special appearance by Filipino artiste, Julz Savard from the band Save Me Hollywood and some may also know her from her solo project, SIXX.

Judging from the ending of the video, it seems that this isn't the last we'll be seeing of Savard and An Honest Mistake.

From 29 September 2016 onwards, An Honest Mistake made up of band members; Darren Teh (Lead Vocals/Guitar), Leonard Chua (Electric Guitar) Tomas Tam (Bass) and Ian Ng (Drums); will be making their debut in Seoul, Korea. They will be playing at Channel 1969 on 29th September, Club Freebird on 30th of September and at Thunderhorse Tavern on 1st October leading up to their big gig at the ‘Zandari Festa 2016’ in Hongdae on 2nd October 2016.

The band is reportedly also shooting a travel video in the country. So look out for that next!

This “Evolution of Malaysian Music” by Kyoto Protocol is too awesome!

Spanning over 60 years of Malaysian music, local band Kyoto Protocol had picked to cover 16 songs to celebrate the evolution of Malaysian pop songs via their latest video, "Evolusi Muzik Malaysia | Evolution of Malaysian Music (part 1)".

"To celebrate #Merdeka59 and Malaysia Day 2016 we take you on a journey through Malaysian pop music, from the 50s up to the modern form that we still love today." state the band on their Facebook page.

The 9-minute single-take video sees the five piece band's members; Fuad Alhabshi (vocals and guitar), Gael Oliveres (vocals and keyboard), Hairi Haneefa (guitar), Shakeil Bashir (bass) and Shanjeev Reddy (Drums); standing in front of a projector that plays the music videos of the songs that they are covering.

As the smooth transitions of the songs are commendable, the video also successfully delivers a sense of nostalgia especially through songs like, P. Ramlee's "Pok Pok Bujang Lapok", Search's "Isabella", Sheila Majid's "Sinaran", OAG's "60s TV" and more.

Of course the medley wouldn't be complete without the band's very own song, "Pussycat", making its entry at the very end of the video.

As the title implies that this is only part one, we sure are hoping that Kyoto Protocol will be releasing a part two next!

Hey, the band might even perform it live when they play at the upcoming Rockaway 2016.

Here is the full list of the songs covered by Kyoto Protocol in the video:

A. Ramlie - Oh Fatima
M. Osman - Suzana
P. Ramlee - Pok Pok Bujang Lapok
Alleycats - Andainya Kau Pergi Dulu
Black Dog Bone - Khayalan
Search - Isabella
Sudirman - Chow Kit Road
Zainal Abidin - Hijau
Sheila Majid - Sinaran
Manbai - Kau Ilhamku
OAG - 60s TV
Butterfingers - Girl Friday
Innuendo - Belaian Jiwa
Hujan - Pagi Yang Gelap
Estrella - Stay
Meet Uncle Hussain - Lagu Untukmu
Kyoto Protocol - Pussycat

Be a mermaid at these schools!

Mermaids are pretty cool, while considered merely a legendary creature, they no doubt inspire many a young girl to aspire to be as graceful and elegant, but still with a swimming prowess more leveled up than Michael Phelps. Mermaid schools have been popping up around the world in recent years, promoting it as fun way to workout. This may seem pretty strange to anyone who can’t fathom the fun of swimming around in monotails, but with all those ab-focused workouts, even those disinterested with the mythical creature are getting tempted to jump on the bandwagon.

The current record holder, Burj Khalifa, succeeded Taipei 101 in 2010, the latter took over the tallest building in the world record from Malaysia’s Petronas Twin Towers in 2004. More skyscrapers have since topped the latter two but Burj Khalifa, being a ‘megatall’-certified building, is only expected to be surpassed in 2020 by the Jeddah Tower, currently being built in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
